विष्णु सुनिए विनय, सेवक की चितलाय।
Vishnu Suniye Vinay, Sevak Ki Chitlaay.
O Vishnu, kindly listen to the prayers coming from the heart of your devotee.

कीरत कुछ वर्णन करूँ, दीजै ज्ञान बताय॥
Keerat Kuch Varnan Karun, Deejai Gyaan Bataay.
Allow me to describe your glory; please grant me divine wisdom.

चौपाई:

नमो विष्णु भगवान खरारी। कष्ट नशावन अखिल बिहारी॥
Namo Vishnu Bhagwan Kharari, Kasht Nashawan Akhil Bihari.

Salutations to Lord Vishnu, the remover of troubles and Lord of the Universe.

प्रबल जगत में शक्ति तुम्हारी। त्रिभुवन फैल रही उजियारी॥
Prabal Jagat Mein Shakti Tumhari, Tribhuvan Phail Rahi Ujiyaari.
Your power pervades the three worlds, spreading divine brilliance.

सुन्दर रूप मनोहर सूरत। सरल स्वभाव मोहनी मूरत॥
Sundar Roop Manohar Soorat, Saral Swabhaav Mohani Moorat.

You have a charming form and a gentle nature that enchants all.

तन पर पीताम्बर अति सोहत। बैजन्ती माला मन मोहत॥
Tan Par Peetambar Ati Sohat, Vaijayanti Maala Man Mohat.

Clad in yellow silk and adorned with the Vaijayanti garland, you captivate hearts.

शंख चक्र कर गदा बिराजे। देखत दैत्य असुर दल भाजे॥
Shankh Chakra Kar Gada Biraaje, Dekhat Daitya Asur Dal Bhaaje.
Holding conch, discus and mace, you frighten demons and evil beings.

सत्य धर्म मद लोभ न गाजे। काम क्रोध मद लोभ न छाजे॥
Satya Dharm Mad Lobh Na Gaaje, Kaam Krodh Mad Lobh Na Chhaaje.
You remain unaffected by pride, lust, anger, and greed; you are truth and dharma personified.

सन्तभक्त सज्जन मनरंजन। दनुज असुर दुष्टन दल गंजन॥

Sant Bhakt Sajjan Man Ranjan, Danuj Asur Dushtan Dal Ganjan.
You bring joy to saints and devotees and destroy demons and evil forces.

सुख उपजाय कष्ट सब भंजन। दोष मिटाय करत जन सज्जन॥
Sukh Upjaay Kasht Sab Bhanjan, Dosh Mitaay Karat Jan Sajjan.

You generate happiness, eliminate sufferings, and purify the minds of noble souls.

पाप काट भव सिन्धु उतारण। कष्ट नाशकर भक्त उबारण॥
Paap Kaat Bhav Sindhu Utaaran, Kasht Naashkar Bhakt Ubaaran.
You destroy sins, ferry across the ocean of life, and rescue your devotees from pain.

करत अनेक रूप प्रभु धारण। केवल आप भक्ति के कारण॥

Karat Anek Roop Prabhu Dhaaran, Keval Aap Bhakti Ke Kaaran.
You take many divine forms solely for the sake of your devotees’ welfare.

धरणि धेनु बन तुम्हिं पुकारा। तब तुम रूप राम का धारा॥
Dharani Dhenu Ban Tumhi Pukaara, Tab Tum Roop Ram Ka Dhaara.
When Earth pleaded for help, you incarnated as Shri Ram.

भार उतार असुर दल मारा। रावण आदिक को संहारा॥
Bhaar Utaar Asur Dal Maara, Ravan Aadik Ko Sanhaara.
You destroyed demons like Ravan and removed the burden from Earth.

आप वाराह रूप बनाया। हिरण्याक्ष को मार गिराया॥
Aap Vaarah Roop Banaaya, Hiranyaksha Ko Maar Giraaya.
You took the form of a boar and slew the demon Hiranyaksha.

धर मत्स्य तन सिन्धु बनाया। चौदह रतनन को निकलाया॥
Dhar Matsya Tan Sindhu Banaaya, Choudah Ratnan Ko Nikaalaaya.
As a fish, you saved the Vedas and helped retrieve fourteen gems from the ocean.

अमिलख असुरन द्वन्द मचाया। रूप मोहनी आप दिखाया॥
Amilakh Asuran Dwand Machaaya, Roop Mohini Aap Dikhaaya.
To stop demons from stealing nectar, you assumed the enchanting form of Mohini.

देवन को अमृत पान कराया। असुरन को छबि से बहलाया॥
Devan Ko Amrit Paan Karaaya, Asuran Ko Chhabi Se Bahlaaya.

You gave the nectar to the gods, distracting demons with your charm.

कूर्म रूप धर सिन्धु मझाया। मन्द्राचल गिरि तुरत उठाया॥
Koorm Roop Dhar Sindhu Majhaaya, Mandrachal Giri Turat Uthaaya.
As a tortoise, you supported Mount Mandara during ocean churning.

शंकर का तुम फन्द छुड़ाया। भस्मासुर को रूप दिखाया॥
Shankar Ka Tum Phand Chhudaaya, Bhasmasur Ko Roop Dikhaya.
You saved Shiva from Bhasmasur by tricking him with an illusion.

वेदन को जब असुर डुबाया। कर प्रबन्ध उन्हें ढुँढवाया॥
Vedan Ko Jab Asur Dubaaya, Kar Prabandh Unhein Dhoondhvaaya.
When demons submerged the Vedas, you arranged for their recovery.

मोहित बनकर खलहि नचाया। उसही कर से भस्म कराया॥
Mohit Bankar Khalahi Nachaaya, Usahi Kar Se Bhasm Karaaya.

Disguised cleverly, you made the demon dance and destroy himself.

असुर जलंधर अति बलदाई। शंकर से उन कीन्ह लड़ाई॥
Asur Jalandhar Ati Baldaayi, Shankar Se Un Keen Ladaayi.
The powerful demon Jalandhar fought even Shiva.

हार पार शिव सकल बनाई। कीन सती से छल खल जाई॥
Haar Paar Shiv Sakal Banaayi, Keen Sati Se Chhal Khal Jaayi.

When Shiva struggled, you exposed the demon’s trick involving Sati.

सुमिरन कीन तुम्हें शिवरानी। बतलाई सब विपत कहानी॥
Sumiran Keen Tumhein Shivraani, Batlaayi Sab Vipat Kahaani.

Goddess Parvati remembered you and shared her sorrows.

तब तुम बने मुनीश्वर ज्ञानी। वृन्दा की सब सुरति भुलानी॥
Tab Tum Bane Munishwar Gyaani, Vrinda Ki Sab Surati Bhulaani.

You appeared as a sage and caused Vrinda to forget everything.

देखत तीन दनुज शैतानी। वृन्दा आय तुम्हें लपटानी॥
Dekhat Teen Danuj Shaitani, Vrinda Aayi Tumhein Laptaani.

Upon seeing the demons, Vrinda embraced you unknowingly.

हो स्पर्श धर्म क्षति मानी। हना असुर उर शिव शैतानी॥
Ho Sparsh Dharm Kshati Maani, Hana Asur Ur Shiv Shaitani.

Touched without knowing, she felt her purity was lost; the demon was then slain.

तुमने ध्रुव प्रह्लाद उबारे। हिरणाकुश आदिक खल मारे॥
Tumne Dhruv Prahlad Ubaare, Hiranyakash Aadik Khal Maare.

You saved Dhruv and Prahlad and destroyed wicked ones like Hiranyakashipu.

गणिका और अजामिल तारे। बहुत भक्त भव सिन्धु उतारे॥
Ganika Aur Ajamila Taare, Bahut Bhakt Bhav Sindhu Utaare.

You liberated sinners like the prostitute and Ajamila; many devotees you helped cross worldly ocean.

हरहु सकल संताप हमारे। कृपा करहु हरि सिरजन हारे॥
Harahu Sakal Santaap Hamaare, Kripa Karahu Hari Sirjan Haare.
O Lord Hari, remover of pain and creator of the universe, please end all our sorrows.

देखहुँ मैं निज दरश तुम्हारे। दीन बन्धु भक्तन हितकारे॥
Dekhun Main Nij Darash Tumhaare, Deen Bandhu Bhaktan Hitkaare.
I wish to see you, the friend of the poor and well-wisher of your devotees.

चहत आपका सेवक दर्शन। करहु दया अपनी मधुसूदन॥ 

Chahat Aapka Sevak Darshan, Karahu Daya Apni Madhusoodan.
Your devotee longs for your vision; O Madhusudan, be merciful.

जानूं नहीं योग्य जप पूजन। होय यज्ञ स्तुति अनुमोदन॥
Jaanu Nahin Yogy Jap Poojan, Hoy Yagya Stuti Anumodan.
I don’t know the right way to worship or chant; please accept my humble praise.

शीलदया सन्तोष सुलक्षण। विदित नहीं व्रतबोध विलक्षण॥
Sheel Daya Santosh Sulakshan, Vidit Nahin Vratbodh Vilakshan.
Virtues like humility and kindness I lack; I don’t know the details of rituals either.

करहुँ आपका किस विधि पूजन। कुमति विलोक होत दुख भीषण॥
Karahun Aapka Kis Vidhi Poojan, Kumati Vilok Hot Dukh Bhishan.
I don’t know how to worship you properly; this ignorance causes me great sorrow.

करहुँ प्रणाम कौन विधि सुमिरण। कौन भाँति मैं करहुँ समर्पण॥
Karahun Pranam Kaun Vidhi Sumiran, Kaun Bhaanti Main Karahun Samarpan.
How should I bow, chant your name, or surrender myself to you?

सुर मुनि करत सदा सिवकाई। हर्षित रहत परम गति पाई॥
Sur Muni Karat Sada Sivkaai, Harshit Rahat Param Gati Paayi.

Gods and sages always serve you joyfully, having attained salvation.

दीन दुखिन पर सदा सहाई। निज जन जान लेव अपनाई॥
Deen Dukhin Par Sada Sahaayi, Nij Jan Jaan Lev Apnaayi.
You always help the poor and the distressed, embracing them as your own.

पाप दोष संताप नशाओ। भव बन्धन से मुक्त कराओ॥
Paap Dosh Santaap Nashaao, Bhav Bandhan Se Mukt Karaao.

Remove all sins and pains, and free us from the bondage of birth and death.

सुत सम्पति दे सुख उपजाओ। निज चरनन का दास बनाओ॥
Sut Sampatti De Sukh Upjaao, Nij Charanan Ka Daas Banaao.

Grant children and wealth, bring happiness, and make me your eternal servant.

निगम सदा ये विनय सुनावै। पढ़ै सुनै सो जन सुख पावै॥
Nigam Sadaa Ye Vinay Sunaavai, Padhai Sunai So Jan Sukh Paavai.
The Vedas always declare this prayer; whoever reads or hears it gains peace and joy.
